Karst landscapes and countryside days with flexible plans when weather shifts — private English-speaking support.

Fog, rain, and heat change photo plans. Private companions and drivers adjust boat timing, viewpoints, and lunch stops without a bus group's constraints.
Yes, you can paddleboard here — it is one of the most-requested Guilin activities and one of the best places in China to learn. The Yulong River, a calm tributary of the Li River just outside Yangshuo, has flat water and karst towers rising straight from both banks. No previous experience is needed: local operators supply wide, stable boards, life jackets and transport upstream, and most people are standing within their first twenty minutes.
Guided sessions typically run ¥150–300 per person for one to three hours, depending on length and whether transport is included. Early morning, ideally launching by 8am, gives you glassy water and far fewer tourist rafts.
Two practical cautions worth knowing before you book. After heavy rain upstream the river turns brown and operators suspend both paddling and bamboo rafting for a day or two — most common between June and August. And the main Li River itself has real current and cruise boat traffic, so paddle it only with an operator who knows the channels.
A companion handles exactly the parts that tend to go wrong: checking river conditions on the morning itself rather than trusting a two-day-old forecast, booking operators who do not advertise in English, negotiating the local rather than foreigner quoted rate, and rearranging the day at 7am if the water closes.
